The ePortfolio Studio, provided by the Office for Academic Success Initiatives and Support (ASIS), is located on the second floor of the Student Success Center, Room 2026. The ePortfolio Support team provides assistance for ePortfolios and related digital assignments. This space is envisioned as an active, adaptable, tech-centric environment, with the ePortfolio team providing assistance and instruction related to multimedia composition to students through a variety of means (tutoring, workshops, tutorials, events, speakers) and in collaboration with several other units on campus.
Why an ePortfolio Studio?
- The ePortfolio Studio is very directly concerned with "technology that is relevant and engaging, seamless and ubiquitous." However, it is not intended to be merely another computer lab. Rather, it is an extension of spaces such as the Writing Center, offering a team specifically focused on multimedia tools, digital composition practices, and so on.
- The ePortfolio Studio and the ePortfolio Team is also directly concerned with developing a community of practice for both students and faculty. The ePortfolio initiative pivots upon a series of ePortfolio Pedagogy workshops. As such, the student support branch of the team is intimately and recursively informed through frequent, direct interactions with a large network of faculty members throughout ODU.
- The ePortfolio Studio will provide accessible expertise and resources, offering tutoring and training opportunities aimed at improving student learning, furthering scholarship in connection to digital tools, and fostering such opportunities both in-person and online.
