Department of Women's & Gender StudiesAcademics

Students can major or minor in Women's Studies, or combine a focus on gender and sexuality into a number of our existing majors. Our flexible degree program allows students to easily double major to create a distinct area of academic and applied expertise. For undergraduates, we offer both the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Graduate students in any master or doctoral-level program can also earn a graduate certificate in Women's Studies, designed to support a range of areas of concentration. At both levels, these degrees enhance career opportunities in governmental and non-governmental agencies, law, criminal justice, public relations, journalism, counseling, the health professions, business, social welfare, education, and many other fields. They also provide a strong foundation for continued academic and professional development in a range of disciplines.
