Meet Our Team
KASIE REYES
Kasie Reyes is the Deputy Director and advises international students, faculty, and staff at Old Dominion University on immigration and visa issues. She graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a BA in International Affairs, and from Old Dominion University with an MA in Humanities. She lives very close to ODU, and you may see her around campus riding her bike or walking with her daughter. Her interests include reading, traveling, gnomes, and rugby.
ALICE LAUBACH
Alice Laubach serves as one of the international student advisers. Alice is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate work at Carnegie Mellon University. Alice has resided in Cologne, Germany, Los Angeles, California, and Cleveland, Ohio, where she began her career as an international student adviser at the Cleveland Institute of Music. After relocating to Norfolk, Virginia with her husband Alice began working at Old Dominion University in 2014. She completed her master's degree at ODU in 2017.
Alice resides in Virginia Beach with her husband, two sons, and two cats. They enjoy music, food, and spending time with friends and family.
NEWZAIRA KHAN
Newzaira Khan serves as the graduate assistant. She is currently a PhD student in ODU's International Studies program with a double-minor in Conflict/Cooperation & International Political Economy. Newzaira has a Master's degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota. She is also working towards her LCSW to be an independent mental health practitioner in the state of Virginia. She is originally from Bangladesh, but raised in Riverside, California.
Newzaira lives with her husband and two cats, Aloo and Keema, in Virginia Beach. They spend their time binging shows on Netflix, playing sports, and eating lots of food.
Alaisa Core
Alaisa Core serves as one of our international student advisors. She completed her undergraduate work in Global Affairs at George Mason University. She began her career as a middle school history teacher and then completed her Masters in Higher Education Leadership at Old Dominion University. She has studied abroad in Japan and continues to practice Japanese.
She enjoys traveling with her husband, playing video games, going to the gym, and dancing.
