Technical Support/Equipment

ITS Help

If you experience any computer or printer related problems at the Virginia Beach Center, please proceed as follows:

  1. Call the help desk at 683-3192 or email itshelp@odu.edu or use ITS Help Online
  2. Give your name, problem, location as the Virginia Beach Center, your office room number, and contact phone number
  3. If an ITS technician is in the building, they will be notified to assist you, but each problem must be logged into the system first.

Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN)

WLAN is available at the Virginia Beach Center. You must have a valid Old Dominion University account (MIDAS ID) and a laptop with wireless capabilities. For more information on requirements go to the Wireless LAN web page of ITS.


Computer Classroom

A 40-seat instructional computer classroom is available for use through Information Technology Services. Reservations can be made by contacting Dwayne Smith at DLSmith@odu.edu or (757) 683-5940.


Equipment

Audio/Visual Equipment requests are made by completing a Room Application (see Forms page). The following equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis

  • 35mm slide projector
  • data projector
  • laptop computer
  • video camera
  • flip chart and pads

You may either fax a copy to 368-4109 or drop your completed form at either the Administration or Learning Commons desk.

Follow this link to the Equipment Use Authorization Form to check out equipment for off campus use from the Virginia Beach Center. Drop the completed form off at the Control Room 164 in order to pick up the equipment. Please call 368-4130 if you have any questions.

A photocopier is available for faculty use in Room 146A and is equipped to accept your Department's copy card.


On Campus Equipment/Reservation

To check out equipment or reserve space through ITS Classroom Central on campus, please fill out a Classroom Central Equipment Request Form or Classroom Central Reservation Form.

Office Space

The Virginia Beach Center offers shared faculty office space for faculty to use. Please submit an ODU VB Shared Faculty Office Request form (see Forms section).
It is essential that you identify the day and time of day you plan to use the shared office space. The shared office at times may be jointly occupied. An ODU VB Shared Faculty Office Request form can be sent to Admin & Facilities Support via fax (757) 368-4109 or email at VBRooms@odu.edu.

Onsite Class Exam Administration Request

Please complete the Onsite Class Exam Administration Request form located on the Forms page.

Classroom Supplies

Please see staff at the Admin or Learning Commons desks for classroom supplies (dry erase markers and erasers) if there are none available in your classroom.

Lactation Room

A lactation room is provided for nursing mothers on the first floor. Please request use of the room from a staff member at the Administrative or Learning Commons desk. Learn more

Students and alumni may access free career assistance at our Career Development Services satellite office inside the Learning Commons.
