MONARCH WAY BUSINESS: Will Powered Crafts
William Heine is the CEO and co-founder of Will Powered Crafts, a small business that makes handmade gifts, with a focus on wooden/acrylic pens.
Will has always loved making wooden gifts for friends and family, so he got together with a friend and started selling their work. The overall goal of the business is to make personalized gifts people are proud to give. They aim to make memorable products that are both practical and inspiring. Will has been making gifts for the last two years just for family but has transitioned to an actual business over the summer of 2021.
In addition, William just started utilizing THE Monarch Way store located in the Webb Center at Old Dominion University this November 2021 and since the display has been up, they have already sold several pens.
Currently, they utilize marketing techniques through social media and word of mouth. As a small business that has just started, they are currently working on building their website which will be ready by early 2022.
Will's advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to never rush into anything, always take your time preparing and make sure what you are providing is of a quality that you would use.
