Print from a personal device
The easiest way to print to a campus printer is to use mobile print (email an attachment or upload files to monarchprint.odu.edu). See instructions above.
However, if you'd prefer to print using File > Print, there is a way:
Download the MonarchPrint driver for Mac or PC (you must log in with your MIDAS ID and password).
Click Print your software's tool bar or File menu.
Select the printer named MonarchPrint.

Touch the print icon, select the name of your print job, and press Print (or Print All).
Click the Access button to log outwhen you are finished printing.
In order to use this option, you'll need to be on an ODU network -- MonarchODU, eduroam or the campus VPN. (The VPN is only necessary if you are not connected to an on-campus network. You do not need VPN access in order to use MonarchPrint.)
Paying for printing
Students receive $1.25 in their Pharos print accounts at the beginning of each semester. Additional printing charges are deducted directly from your Monarch Plus account. Add money to Monarch Plus online or in person at the University Card Center (1120 Monarch Hall).
Black & White = $0.05 per printed sheet
Color = $0.50 per printed sheet.
When you print to an ODU printer, a confirmation window displays your current balance. This balance is a combined total of the money in your Pharos account (including that $1.25 added each semester) and your Monarch Plus account. Money in your Monarch Plus account, of course, is tied to your University ID card and can be used for much more than just printing. When you see your balance, understand that it represents more than just the money used for printing.
No. When you print to MonarchPrint from a lab computer, or upload your job to the Monarch Print cloud (see instructions above), you can release your print job from any University Konica Minolta printer.
There are two ways: email an attachment or upload files to the mobile site.
Email an attachment from your ODU email address:
Email an attachment (25 MB or less) to one of the addresses below. Wait for email confirmation that your document is ready to print, then swipe your University ID at any campus printer to print it.
Use mprintbw@odu.edu for black & white printing.
Use mprintcolor@odu.edu for color printing
Upload files to the mobile site:
Visit monarchprint.odu.edu and log in with your MIDAS ID and password.
Upload documents to your queue (supported file types up to 52.4 MB), then print them out at any Monarch Print Anywhere device.
Using the mobile site, you can change various print settings in your queue (e.g., black & white or color, single- or double-sided, number of copies, page range).
Sometimes images might shift or fonts might be substituted between your computer and the printer. If your print job looks different than you expect, save the document as a PDF first, then print the PDF.
Swipe or tap your University ID card at the card reader, or log in from the printer's touch screen with your MIDAS ID and password.
From the printer's home screen, select Secure Print.
You see the document(s) in your print queue. Press Print All to print all documents in your queue. Or touch a specific document name to select it, and press Print.
Documents are automatically deleted from your queue after 24 hours. If you want to delete them before then, you can do so from a Monarch Printer or the mobile site.
Delete a document from a Monarch Printer:
Swipe or tap your University ID card on the card reader, or log in from the printer's touch screen with your MIDAS ID and password.
From the home screen, select Secure Print.
Touch the name of the document to select it.
Press Delete at the bottom of the screen to remove the job(s) from your queue.
Delete a document using the mobile print web site.
Visit monarchprint.odu.edu and log in with your MIDAS ID and password.
On the Job List screen, locate the document you want to delete and click the small checkbox to the left of its name.
Press Delete at the top of the screen to remove the job(s) from your queue.
