OUR MISSION
Develop teachers interested in becoming teacher leaders and expanding their expertise in mathematics learning and teaching. This program will develop your leadership and mathematics content knowledge through learner-centered "doing" activities during class and in field-based experiences.
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
You'll have oppotunities for interaction and networking in your online courses and required practicum. Some classes will have live, regular online meeting times, while others will not.

Professor and Program Director
Melva Grant, Ph.D.
Melva Grant, Ph.D., is a second-career educator. For nearly two decades, she was an electrical engineer, developing ground-breaking technology in the private sector. In 1998, she shifted to the public sector, striving to improve K-12 mathematics learning and teaching for underserved students in urban environments. Grant has served as a teacher, consultant, and leader in education including: an urban high school, a state department of education, a non-profit organization, and now at Old Dominion University.
