TCEP Faculty Selected for the Elizabeth River Project (ERP) Fellow Position
Dr. Venicia Ferrell, The Center for Educational Partnerships (TCEP) faculty member and Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience (ICAR) faculty affiliate, has recently been honored with the prestigious Elizabeth River Project (ERP) fellow position. She infuses the practices of coastal resilience and adaptation through engagement with communities, organizations, and the K-12 educational sector in her work.
Dr. Ferrell leads several ongoing projects at TCEP that are closely aligned with ICAR's practice of resilience and adaptation by bringing together experts from various sectors to create practical solutions for coastal communities and raise awareness. These projects include the Southeastern Virginia Environmental Education (SEVEE) consortium and collaborations with esteemed organizations such as the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Oyster Team. One particular innovative project involves the utilization of underwater oyster cams to study intertidal zones in the Chesapeake Bay.
