"We are our Brother’s Keeper: Brotherhood, Service, Leadership, and Excellence."


Brother 2 Brother (B2B) is a nationally recognized dynamic organization dedicated specifically to assist African American, and Latinx men of color to excel academically, socially, culturally, and professionally. B2B is based on a peer mentoring model where men of color connect, engage, support, and encourage each other to be successful in and outside of the classroom. The Old Dominion University of Brother2Brother was established in spring 2018 and has experienced increases in membership each year.



B2B's mission is to provide comprehensive support and resources to African American and LatinX males in accomplishing their career and professional aspirations

Are There Group Requirements?

The short answer is no, but we encourage you to engage with the group as much as possible. We want you to feel included and supported both academically and personally.

Are There Dues?

No, and most of the activites are free.

How Many Times A Month Do You Meet?

Our schedule fluxuates depending on availability for both student members and other organization leaders.

How do you support your brothers?

This is a great way to build connection with your fellow B2B members. Listen to them and ask what they need from you. Sometimes it's an ear, other times it could be a study partner.

If I miss a certain amount of meetings or events am I out?

No, but we'd like you to participate as frequently as you can.

Social Events

B2B encourages Brothers to connect and stay engaged with one another through casual meetings. These can include study sessions, career workshops, group chats, and Wise Word Wednesdays.

Barbershop Talks

This activity provides a safe space for men of color on campus to exercise their thoughts and feelings through conversation amongst each other in a comfortable environment.

New Student Reception Program

Kickbacks

This is an informal gathering of Brothers who get together to watch an NFL or NBA game, play video games, break bread, and engage in a range of unstructured conversations.
