Policing as a Community

Community Policing is part of our philosophy at the ODUPD. We believe that policing is not just something done to a community, but is a partnership between those who shape the neighborhood, and the officers who serve to protect it.

Our department's goal is to become woven into the community fabric as an integral contributor to the vitality of a thriving and safe campus environment. In addition to our dedicated Community Policing Division (CPD), it is inherent in every officer's duty to uphold this mission by building meaningful connections with the Monarch community.

If you have any questions about our Community Policing philosophy, or would like to contact the CPD, please email communitypolicing@odu.edu. You can also provide feedback by letting us know How Are We Doing?
