How to apply
All parents who are interested in enrolling their child in the CLRC must first fill out a waitlist application. Applications must be accompanied by a $25 waitlist fee. Fee is non-refundable, but can be applied toward the $100 materials fee if you are offered a spot.
When a spot opens up, the waiting pool will be consulted for children from a diverse population who are the appropriate age for the available opening. The spot will be offered to the child who has been in the pool the longest, using the following priorities:
- Sibling of current student at the CLRC
- ODU faculty or staff
- ODU alumni or full-time student
- Community at large
The waiting list is updated annually. Parents are sent an email and must respong in order to remain on the list. We request that parents who wish to be removed from the list call the office at 683-4987 and ask to be removed.
Infant & Toddler Program and Full-Day Preschool
Parents will be notifed by phone or email when a spot is available. They have 24 hours to accept or decline a spot once offered. Parents who decline a spot will be moved to the end of the waiting list. If a parent declines a spot twice, the child is removed from the list and parents must reapply.
Vacancies in our programs usually occur during the months of May through August. It is very uncommon for a spot to open during the school year.
Registration for the Fall will begin in February of each year. First preference will be given to children currently enrolled in the CLRC. Available space will then be filled by waiting list order. If spaces remain, they will be opened up to the community at large after three weeks of preferred registration. An initial enrollment form and $100 materials fee will be required to secure the space for fall.
