Commuter Parking
ALL parking on campus requires a valid ODU parking permit or hourly parking payment.

You can use the Parking Availability feature on the ODU Mobile app to check garage capacity and parking availability right from your phone!
Students driving to ODU MUST use either a valid ODU parking permit or hourly parking Payment to park on campus.
There are several permit options for commuters (students who do not reside in University Housing). Your available parking options depend on which permit you purchase. Review the different Commuter Permit options to decide which one is best for you, and contact us with any questions.

Commuter Permits are NEVER valid in:

The Commuter Permit is a general student parking permit available to commuters ONLY (not residents).

Perimeter Permits are NEVER valid in:

Perimeter Permits are a great option for commuters who don't mind parking further away and walking or using an alternative mode (e-scooter, e-bike, bike, Monarch Transit bus, etc.) to save money.

Evening Permits are NEVER valid in:

- Restricted Zones
Evening Permits are an affordable option for commuters who only need to park on campus in the evening. It is ONLY valid AFTER 3:45PM. Evening Permit holders are advised to use a Visitor's Daily Permit or utilize hourly parking if they need to park on campus before 3:45PM.

Short Term Parking Options
Have a visitor or other short term parking need? Students also have the option to purchase a Weekly Permit, Daily Permit or utilize Hourly Parking!
Weekly Permit: $20/Week
Daily Permit: $8/Day
Weekly and Daily Permits, can be purchased by anyone, and are allowed everywhere on campus except: ADA Accessible (without Valid DMV Issued Placard), Reserved, Pay-By-Space, Carpool (before 2:00pm), and Restricted areas (such as Loading Zones).
Please note that Weekly and Daily Permits are NON-REFUNDABLE.
To purchase:
- Weekly and Daily Permits can be purchased online through the ODU Parking Portal
- You can select multiple consecutive dates so that you can use one permit for the duration of your stay at ODU.
- Weekly and Daily Permits are also available for purchase at the Transportation & Parking Services Office 4310 Elkhorn Ave, Norfolk, VA
Hourly parking: $0.75/30 minutes.
Hourly parking provides short-term paid parking in high-demand locations. Payment MUST be made immediately upon parking your vehicle via MobilePay. There is only (1) pay station on campus that accepts cash payment and it is located in Visitor Lot 7.
