E-Scooter & E-Bike Safety Tips

1. Wear a helmet and ride defensively. Make eye contact with drivers of cars to be sure they see you. 2. Do a pre-ride safety check for any non-working parts and report any to Lime through the app. Do NOT ride a scooter that isn't in proper working condition. 3. Pay attention and be aware of your surroundings. Don't wear earbuds or use a cellphone while riding. 4. Always yield to pedestrians. Use the scooter bell or alert others vocally when passing. 5. Stay off sidewalks in the University Village area, Downtown Norfolk, and Ghent except to park scooter. 6. Ride at an appropriate speed for your surroundings. Scooters should be ridden in the street as a bike would on roads 25 MPH or less. 7. Obey all traffic signs and signals, ride predictably, and watch out for road/sidewalk obstructions. 8. Park appropriately, at bike racks or curbside, out of the way of pedestrians, ADA and Fire Access.Click on image to enlarge.
