Deborah Gray Elected as State Representative to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners

Old Dominion University's Deborah C. Gray, FNP-C, ANP-BC, FAANP, recently was elected as the Virginia state representative to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

In this position, she will represent over 8,000 nurse practitioners in Virginia.

The AANP is the largest professional membership organization for nurse practitioners (NPs) of all specialties. It represents the interests of the more than 234,000 licensed NPs in the United States. The AANP provides legislative leadership at the local, state and national levels, advancing health policy; promotes excellence in practice, education and research; and establishes standards that best serve NP patients and other health care consumers.

Gray is the associate graduate program director and a clinical associate professor in the Master of Science and doctoral programs at ODU's School of Nursing. She is also an NP business owner and maintains a clinical practice, seeing patients in the Tidewater area for more than 30 years.
