August 06, 2018
"So This Is Your Fairytale" by Leigh Anne Chambers. The piece will be featured in the exhibition.
Old Dominion University's Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries is hosting the 2018 Art Department Faculty Exhibition from Aug. 25 through Sept. 30. A free reception will also take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 30.
The exhibition highlights the most recent work of the ODU Art Department's full‐time and adjunct faculty. The works in the exhibition represent diverse approaches in disciplines including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, photography, metalsmithing, ceramics, fibers and art education.
"For artists and designers, making is a way of thinking," said Peter Eudenbach, professor and chair of the Art Department. "What we share with our students are the tools of visual literacy and interpretation, empowering them to seek new models of thinking and remain connected to their humanity."
The Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries exhibit works by nationally and internationally recognized self‐taught artists, contemporary artists, and local and regional artists connected with the University.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the 45th Street garage. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call the Gordon Art Galleries at 757-683‐6271.
