National Transfer Student Week at ODU

As a leader in transitioning high-quality community college students into the university system, Old Dominion University will celebrate National Transfer Student Week, which is being held Oct. 15-19.

With more than 200 program pathway agreements - the most in Virginia - Old Dominion is an innovator in creating pathways for transfer students. The University continues to be the No. 1 transfer institution for students from Tidewater Community College and Thomas Nelson Community College.

ODU has more than 8,100 transfer students. More than 450 of ODU's newly enrolled transfer students annually qualify to be inducted in the National Honor Society for transfer students, Tau Sigma.

National Transfer Student Week was launched by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students and is intended to celebrate transfer students and the professionals who support them. As part of National Transfer Week, Old Dominion will hold Transfer Tuesday Strome College of Business from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Constant Hall main entrance lobby and Transfer Center Open House from noon to 1:15 p.m. Oct. 18 on the first floor of the Student Success Center.

Students from across Hampton Roads are encouraged to attend to learn more about ODU and to find out how the University can help them finish what they have started. Students are also encouraged to stop by any of ODU's transfer centers to meet a transfer mentor or advisor.
