Teaching in the Disciplines: a Conversation with ODU’s Religious Studies Faculty
March 31, 2016
Religion as a subject matter, broadly speaking, affects a wide range of academic inquiries, from cultural studies to international trade negotiations.
How do the members of the Religious Studies faculty from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies approach the academic study of religion?
They'll be leading a discussion on the subject in the next edition of the Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning.
On Thursday, April 7 at 12:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Learning Commons@Perry Library, several members of the faculty - lecturer Jim Van Dore and assistant professors Nicole Willock and Scott Girdner - will share the challenges involved in teaching Religious Studies to increase cultural competency.
All are welcome to join the conversation.
