ODU PR Specialist Elected Chairman of Virginia Higher Ed Broadcasting Consortium
June 25, 2015
Old Dominion University Public Relations Specialist Brendan O'Hallarn was recently elected chairman of the Virginia Higher Education Broadcasting Consortium, which oversees the "With Good Reason" public radio program.
Within the consortium, Virginia's public colleges and universities pool creative and intellectual resources to provide content for the "With Good Reason" show that is broadcast weekly on public radio stations across Virginia and in 25 other states. With Good Reason is produced by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities for the Virginia Higher Education Broadcasting Consortium.
On the show, host Sarah McConnell examines a wide range of topics with leading scholars who are selected from nominations submitted by representatives such as O'Hallarn from the state's public colleges and universities.
O'Hallarn has served on the consortium's executive committee since 2013. His one-year term as chairman starts with the group's fall meeting, in October.
In a letter notifying ODU of O'Hallarn's election, McConnell noted: "We've been poring over Brendan's nominations for guests on With Good Reason and found several great ones, including Sea Rise and also Ferdinand the Bull!"
