NCAA Vice President to speak at Old Dominion University

Old Dominion students with an interest in sports administration will have the opportunity Oct. 21 to hear from one of the leading administrators in college athletics.

NCAA Executive Vice President Bernard W. Franklin will speak at Old Dominion University on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The discussion is geared towards ODU students with an interest in sports management and administration.

The event will be held at 7:10 p.m. in room 200 of the Oceanography and Physics Building. Franklin will be a guest in Professor Jeffrey McLeod's 300 level Sport's Administration Theory class.

This discussion is open to the ODU campus community.

Franklin serves as Executive Vice President of Education and Community Engagement/Chief Inclusion Officer. In this role, he is responsible for working with high level administrators in the NCAA national office.

Franklin has responsibility for assuring the development of policies and procedures that support the effective functioning of the leadership development and inclusion groups.

The talk will focus on the history of the NCAA, the collegiate sports model, as well as possible careers at the NCAA national office.
