Luisa Igloria Book Signing Event Upcoming at Café Stella

Old Dominion University Professor Luisa Igloria will conduct a book signing for her new collection of poetry, "The Saints of Streets," Saturday, Aug. 17, at Café Stella, in Norfolk.

The book is being published by the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House. The event will start with a short reading at 5 p.m. and be followed by the book signing at 5:45 p.m.

Igloria is the director of ODU's M.F.A. in creative writing program and an award-winning author. Prior to "The Saints of Streets," her most recent book, "Juan Luna's Revolver," was published in 2009.

Poems contained in "The Saints of Streets" were compiled from a collection composed by Igloria during daily writing exercises that have been ongoing for nearly three years and which have resulted in approximately 1,000 entries.
