ODU’s Invencia Piano Duo Upcoming Guests on Hampton Roads Show

Old Dominion University music professors Andrey Kasparov and Oksana Lutsyshyn - who, together, comprise the internationally-acclaimed Invencia Piano Duo - will be featured guests Monday on the Hampton Roads Show.
Kasparov and Lutsyshyn's segment on the popular daytime talk show on WAVY TV, channel 10, will be broadcast at 11 a.m., Oct. 7.
The pair is currently enjoying significant praise at home and abroad related to their most recent recording which is the first of four volumes of "Schmitt - Complete Original Works for Piano Duet and Duo." It was released in October 2012 and features the works of composer Florent Schmitt (1870-1958) - an artist widely considered to be one of the most influential French composers of his time.
Kasparov said he has been interviewed on television in the past, but Monday's broadcast marks the Invencia Piano Duo's first appearance as a couple.
Kasparov and Lutsyshyn, an associate professor and adjunct faculty member, respectively are a husband and wife team that hail from Armenian and Ukrainian families and were educated at the Moscow State Conservatory before pursuing advanced studies at Indiana University's School of Music in Bloomington. They joined the ODU music department faculty in 1997.
"Oksana and I are extremely pleased and humbled by the attention and positive response our Florent Schmitt CDs have received around the world, Kasparov said. "It was an enormous investment of time and energy, and it is indeed an unbelievable feeling to see all this labor of love paying off. "
