Planning, Scheduling Journal Debut

After considerable amounts of preparation, development and collaboration, Ghaith Rabadi, editor-in-chief of International Journal of Planning and Scheduling and associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering, could happily announce that the journal for which all the groundwork had transpired was ready for readership.

The inaugural issue of International Journal of Planning and Scheduling is available online, and its contents will remain accessible to users without fee in commemoration of its introduction.

The journal, which focuses on planning and scheduling problems from various fields, will have two additional issues produced in 2012. It is a peer-reviewed international journal that accepts original research papers in the area of planning and scheduling. The journal considers both theoretical and applied research that encompass theoretical advances, new solution methods, modeling, complexity analysis, algorithms, and applications for complex planning and scheduling problems. IJPS is opened to including, but not limited to: operations research and management, computer science, manufacturing, services, projects, transportation, supply chains, logistics, telecommunications, and networks.

This is the fifth journal whose editor-in0chief is an ODU Engineering faculty member. There are also fifteen journals whose associate editors are on the faculty within the College.
