ODU Wind Ensemble
Dr. Tyler Austin, Conductor and Director of Bands
The Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble is a premiere concert ensemble in the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music comprised of the finest wind and percussion musicians at the university. The Wind Ensemble performs both traditional concert band literature and new works just entering the repertoire in multiple concert performances each semester. Additional performances include tours, conference performances, and educational outreach programs. Membership is open to all ODU students regardless of major. The ODU Wind Ensemble is led by Dr. Tyler Austin, Director of Bands. Dr. Austin oversees the ODU Bands Department, a robust program which includes multiple concert ensembles, Monarch Athletic Bands, and the graduate wind conducting studio. Dr. Austin is an experienced conductor, bassoonist, and educator who maintains an international profile of guest appearances. Dr. Austin is the Founding Artistic Director and Conductor of Maryland Chamber Winds.
