Description

The Old Maid and the Thief Plot, Libretto, and Music by Gian Carlo Menotti is the first Opera ever to be composed especially for Radio; described as "An Opera Buffa for Radio in 14 Scenes." It is the story of two women who fall in love with a beggar and will do anything to keep him close. The opera tells a twisted tale of morals, betrayal, and malevolent womanly power.
