F. Ludwig Diehn School of MusicMedia Guidelines

The F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music accepts a variety of media from undergraduate program applicants via upload to Getacceptd.com, as part of the F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music Application. Media includes all audition video for those who are unable to audition live on-campus, and audio/video recordings for the composition portfolio. While DVD, CD, YouTube, or similar submissions received by postal mail or email are acceptable for the composition portfolio, they are not acceptable for entrance auditions and will neither be reviewed nor acted upon.

Submission guidelines and troubleshooting

Before submitting materials please visit GetAcceptd.com for upload instructions.

Acceptd supports a majority of file types in use today including:

  • Video: MPEG, MPG, MP4, OGG, MOV, AVI, WMV, M4V, VOB, FLV
  • Audio: MP3, OGG, M4A, WMA, WAV, AAC, FLAC
  • Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF

Individual files can be as large as 5GB, however, files larger than 50MB may take some time to upload. Upload speed is dependent upon both the file size and speed of your Internet connection. Be sure to upload files using a stable Internet connection, and make sure the computer does not go into sleep or hibernate mode while files are uploading.

Uploading uncompressed video is time-intensive and not recommended. While large HD videos can be compressed down, MP4, 720p is best. All audio is compressed to a minimum of 320 kbps and videos are compressed to 720p, 1100 kbps.

If you have technical questions about submitting your materials, or for tips on converting your video files, reach out to Acceptd's support team at support@getacceptd.com or 1.888.725.2122 extension 2.
