Ishan Perera, a junior in Old Dominion University's Perry Honors College, dreams of being a neurosurgeon. With a biology major and minors in chemistry and computer science, Ishan wants to make a difference in the lives of patients. Through hands-on classroom and lab experiences, Ishan is learning the inner workings of human anatomy.

While pursuing a major in modeling and simulation engineering, Jordan became involved on campus and built leadership skills, serving as ODU's Student Government Association president and joining Phi Tappa Kau fraternity. Through an alumni connection, Jordan secured an internship and part-time job with Newport News Shipbuilding. Because of his classroom knowledge and hands-on experiences, Jordan has a full-time job lined up at the shipyard upon graduation.
