With more than 150,000 graduates in our global alumni network, our curriculum is designed to bring your talents, ideas and goals to life. A recent survey showed that 94% of ODU alums are employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation. From building businesses from the ground up, to launching satellites and learning through internships, these Monarchs started their reign at ODU.

Rob V was selected to perform at the world-famous South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, in the spring of 2017. He took several music industry classes taught by Dr. Tim Anderson and connected with his teaching style.

Glenn interned with NASA's engineering division gaining experience operating a studio 3D printer for aerospace. His internship inspired him to use 3D printing as a gateway for others to discover engineering. Using 3D printers and digital drawing software, Glenn develops customized products like keychains and rocket models for his business.

Samantha will be the first woman in her family to join the military. Through Old Dominion University's Army ROTC program she has not only earned scholarships and awards, but Samantha has become a leader. ODU's Military Connection Center provided her with resources and guidance to feel connected on campus.

Haley chose Old Dominion University for its hands-on learning opportunities and its research efforts in the Coastal Virginia region. With the knowledge and skills Haley gained at ODU and through an internship with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, she is now a Research Technician for Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Florida.

Old Dominion University football player Kohl launched 2nd Gear Athletics to give youth and high school athletes the tools to achieve their sports goals. Off the field, Kohl spent time in the Strome Entrepreneurial Center, where he received help growing his brand, developing a marketing strategy and networking with like-minded companies.

Raven was Norfolk's first youth poet laureate. Initially enrolled in ODU's nursing program, Raven's study aboard experience in France and Poland shifted her path towards a major in history and minor in political science and public service.

Entrepreneur Mike, created Pull Start Fire, the pull-string fire starter. The knowledge and tools he gained at ODU, helped launch his idea into a successful career and now he operates out of a local warehouse fulfilling domestic and international product orders.

Kevin O'Connor knew by his senior year that he wanted to start his own craft beer company. While writing his senior year management paper about his business, he recognized the brewing industry was not represented in the local market, and the demand would soon be on the rise. Located in Norfolk, O'Connor Brewing Co. has introduced hundreds of great brews into the market and continues to be part of many growing community networks, including a thriving restaurant scene and the ODU network.
