School ofMedical Diagnostic & Translational Sciences

The School of Medical Diagnostic & Translational Sciences offers a coordinated program of courses and clinical laboratory experiences leading to degrees of Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (formerly Medical Technology), Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology, as well as a program in Cytotechnology.

Research

Research areas include: Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cell Biology, Wound-healing, and Tissue Engineering; Drug and Gene Delivery; Cancer Biology and Therapy; Vascular Biology, Inflammation, and Cardiovascular Dysfunction; Novel Bioelectric Approaches to Cancer and Cardiovascular Therapies; Telomeres and Telomerase in Cancer, Aging, and Stem Cells.


Academics

Med Tech Student

Students in the programs listed above attend on and off campus courses which include classroom, laboratory and clinical rotations. Quality clinical experiences are obtained at a variety of affiliated local and regional health care organizations.

Post-baccalaureate level courses are also offered in Molecular Diagnostics. Completion of at least 12 credit hours will lead to a Certificate in Molecular Diagnostics.
