About Special Collections and University Archives
About Us: We collect, preserve, and provide access to rare and unique materials documenting the history of the university, local community and region, including documents, records, maps, photographs, letters, rare books, art, music, video, artifacts, and unique research collections. We use our expertise in teaching, learning, and research using archives and primary sources to support active learning, unique research opportunities, and meaningful community engagement.
Teaching and Learning with Primary Sources: We partner with faculty on developing instruction sessions and projects using special collections, archives, and other primary sources. Class visits to the archives are liveley and engaging, and include hands-on excercises using physical and/or digital materials.
