Black History Month at ODU Libraries

As the Monarch community recognizes Black History Month this February, ODU Libraries offer our 50 Black Directors collection covering close to a century of Black American film history! Through the Naro Video Collection, we feature highlighted works from pioneers like Oscar Micheaux and Kathleen Collins, superstars like Spike Lee and Jordan Peele, and a wealth of important female figures: Gina Prince-Bythewood, Dee Rees, Chinonye Chukwu, and others.

Additionally, we encourage Monarachs to make some digital discoveries this month! Connect events and activities planned across campus with just a few of the Libraries' resources listed below:

...as well as databases, e-books, and interlibrary loan!

For additional details, please contact Jennifer Hoyt, head of the Libraries' Department of Engagement, at jhoyt@odu.edu.
