New Round of $2,000 VIVA Open Adopt Grants

Are you ready to replace an expensive textbook with an open, no-cost option? Do you want to lower the cost of higher education for Virginia students and contribute to their retention and success? Consider applying for a VIVA Open Adopt Grant.

VIVA (Virtual Library of Virginia) has announced a new round of VIVA Open Adopt Grants, with a deadline of October 4, 2021. These grants provide awards of $2,000 to individual instructors to support the time it takes to integrate existing open or no-cost materials into a syllabus, and to ensure that the results of those efforts are widely available to Virginia educators. Though united in purpose with VIVA's Open Course Grant program, VIVA Open Adopt Grants have a simplified application process, a pre-determined award amount, and will be awarded to individual faculty members hoping to adopt an already existing resource.

Team and departmental adoptions, as well as projects seeking to adapt or create new Open Educational Resources, should apply for the next round of the larger-scale VIVA Open Course grants.

Check out our guide to Open Educational Resources and explore the many open and affordable options that you can adopt.
