New International Student Arrival

Important updated information for new arrival international students
Prior to arrival, Old Dominion University will be requiring all students to be fully vaccinated. (defined as being two weeks past the final dose of a WHO EUL-approved vaccine).
All students arriving from outside the U.S. who are not fully vaccinated will be required to self-quarantine after travel for seven (7) days after travel, and get a COVID-19 test 3-5 days after travel. Students must self-quarantine for ten (10) full days after travel, if they choose not to test for COVID-19.

Old Dominion University, along with many other public universities around the nation, has updated its student immunization requirements to include COVID-19. Students will be required to be fully vaccinated (defined as being two weeks past the final dose of a WHO EUL-approved vaccine), unless claiming an exemption. Arrival to Norfolk
The Norfolk International Airport is about nine and a half miles from ODU, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to ride in a car from the airport to the campus.
Whether you are coming in a car, plane, train, or bus, ODU's campus is easily accessible to new students.
Ground Transportation Available at the Airport
The Norfolk Amtrak Station is about 4.5 miles from ODU, and it takes about a 15-20 minute ride in a car from the station to campus.
The Norfolk Greyhound Bus Station is about 3.5 miles from ODU, and it takes about a minutes ride in a car from the station to campus.
Taxis are available for hire at Norfolk International Airport, just outside of the Baggage Claim area.
Accommodation & Temporary Lodging Near ODU
Many local hotels offer special ODU rates. These rates may not always be available during particular periods. Always contact the hotel directly to see if the ODU rate applies for the duration of your stay.
