The School of Community and Environmental Health seeks to improve the health status of individuals, groups and populations through teaching, research and service. Old Dominion University School of Dental Hygiene is dedicated to providing health promotion and disease prevention activities to the diverse populations in Hampton Roads Communities. Through outreach and service, students and faculty provide oral screenings, dental sealants, fluoride treatments, oral radiographs and patient education.

Medical Diagnostic & Translational Sciences

The School of Medical Diagnostic & Translational Sciences offers a coordinated program of courses and clinical laboratory experiences leading to degrees of Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (formerly Medical Technology), Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology, as well as a program in Cytotechnology.

Nursing is a profession that assists patients in developing adaptive responses to dimensions of health. Nursing practice is based on nursing knowledge with concepts integrated from biological, behavioral, and social sciences and incorporates technical, interpersonal, ethical, legal, leadership and scientific inquiry skills.

Rehabilitation Sciences

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences considers its fundamental mission to be consistent with that of the College of Health Sciences. Specifically, the School seeks to address the needs of the community, state, and nation by graduating practitioners who are cultivated in evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and inter-professional healthcare; generating and disseminating new knowledge by conducting innovative and translational research; and providing services to the academic, professional, and general communities in which the School is involved.
