As part of the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies Lunch and Learn Series, Dr. Jennifer Goff, Executive Director of REACH (Reading Enriches All Children) INC gave an exciting presentation to student, faculty and staff about new approaches to leadership.

Lindsay Usher, Ph.D., a member of the Human Movement Sciences faculty, explored the mental, physical, and social effects of early pandemic regulations on surfers.

Human Movement Sciences faculty and staff welcomed new and returning students back on campus. HMS Assistant Chair, Dr. Eddie Hill, gave the welcome presentation to graduate students and faculty at the HMS Graduate Student Welcome Back Social and Orientation.

Hannah M. Twiddy, a Ph.D. candidate in human movement science will conduct postdoctoral research in Australia. Justin Haegele, associate professor of human movement sciences, was named to the Fulbright Specialist Roster.

Katie Holland and Steve Holland (Advisor Dr. Justin Haegele) were selected to receive the 2021 Ruth Abernathy Scholarship, a very prestigious award that typically recognizes two students at each year’s national convention.

As a defensive lineman for four seasons with the Old Dominion University football team, Mufu Taiwo played an almost anonymous role on the field, as do so many linemen. On Thursday, he was anything but anonymous. Now a graduate student, Taiwo organized the student-led March for Justice that began at noon.
