Printing to Campus Printers

ITS supports networked printers and multi-function devices in all departments on campus. You can print to these printers from your ODU-managed workstation or from a personal computer connected to ODU's VPN.

MonarchPrint

The easiest way to print on campus is with MonarchPrint. Send a document to the MonarchPrint cloud and swipe into any Konica Minolta printer with your University ID card to release your print job.

(Because costs are automatically charged to your department when you swipe your University ID card at a machine, we need your budget unit director (BUD) to approve card access to MFPs. Start by filling out this form.)

 ODU-managed desktops

The MonarchPrint queue is pre-installed on all ODU-managed desktop computers.

  1. Select MonarchPrint as your printer.
  2. Walk up to any campus printer within 24 hours and swipe your University ID Card in the card reader.
  3. Touch the print icon, select the name of your print job, and then push the Start button.
  4. Remember to log out when you are finished printing.

 ODU-managed laptops

  1. Download and install MonarchPrint from the Ivanti Portal Manager or Company Portal (Windows) or from the Self Service portal (Mac).
  2. Select MonarchPrint as your printer.
  3. Walk up to any campus printer within 24 hours and swipe your University ID Card in the card reader.
  4. Touch the print icon, select the name of your print job, and then push the Start button.
  5. Remember to log out when you are finished printing.

MonarchPrint Anywhere

In addition to printing from your software's Print command, you can upload a print job to the web or email a file directly to a campus printer.

 Web upload

  1. Go to monarchprint.odu.edu, log in and upload your file.
  2. Walk up to any campus printer within 24 hours and swipe your University ID Card in the card reader.

  4. Remember to log out when you are finished printing.

 Email to printer

  1. From your ODU email address, send your document as an attachment to mprintbw@odu.edu (for black and white printing) or mprintcolor@odu.edu (for color). Each attachment will print as a separate document, and if your email contains more than a signature, the email message will print as a separate page.
  2. Walk up to any campus printer within 24 hours and swipe your University ID Card in the card reader.
  3. Touch the print icon, select the name of your print job, and then push the Start button.
  4. Remember to log out when you are finished printing.

Direct Print

Print directly from your ODU-managed computer to the MFP located in your department:

If you need help, contact the ITS Help Desk at itshelp@odu.edu, and your TSP will work with you.
