The University's website simultaneously serves as our largest communication tool and our largest source of information about the University to both our internal and external audiences. Our website audiences represent a diverse combination of age, background, culture, experience and needs. Our website strategy and priorities should balance the needs of our audiences with the University's core strategic goals.

Website Strategic Goals & Guiding Principles

  1. Promote the University's forward-focused culture, nationally recognized faculty, research and collaboration, nationally recognized faculty and diverse community.
  2. Recruit and support recruitment efforts.
  3. Support student success.
  4. Engage the community, friends, alumni, donors and the greater community.
  5. Provide information and resources to University employees for their work in supporting the University's strategic plan.

Website Priorities

  1. Strategic communication and branded storytelling
    • Ensure top-level University pages focus on recruitment and engaging external audiences.
    • Communicate effectively with external and internal audiences.
    • Ensure all content portrays the University brand and culture regardless of focus on internal or external audiences.

    • Communicate the University brand and culture to our student body.
    • Provide easy-to-understand information to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.
    • Provide easy access to resources, regardless of frequency of use.
  3. Supporting University operations
    • Provide platform for University administrative and academic units to communicate their work and engage their internal and external constituents.
    • Provide easy-to-find and easy-to-understand information on University processes, procedures, polcies and operations.
  4. User experience
    • Focus on usability. accessibility and user expereince.
