Keynote: Queer Latinx Joy & Radical Storytelling

March 22, 2023 | 6:30 - 8: 00 P.M. ODU Webb University Center, North/Center Cafeteria

Join us for a keynote by Gabby Rivera. She's the first Latina to write for Marvel Comics, penning the solo series "America," about America Chavez, a portal-punching queer Latina powerhouse. She is also author of the critically acclaimed novel Juliet Takes a Breath.

When not writing, Gabby speaks at events across the country on her experiences as a queer Puerto Rican from the Bronx, and as an LGBTQ youth advocate, and the importance of prioritizing joy in QTPOC communities. To learn more about Gabby, click here.

This is a collaborative effort between the Darden College, the College of Arts & Letters, Gay Cultural Studies, and the Women & Gender Equity Center.

For more information, email educmarketing@odu.edu.

This event is free and open to ODU Students, ODU Employees, and the public.
