Doctoral Programs
ODU'S EMSE department offers two exciting doctoral degrees: the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering and the Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.) in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering. Both of these doctoral degrees are designed to let students develop world class expertise in their chosen fields of study.
Masters Programs
ODU's EMSE Department offers exciting programs leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering Management (M.E.M.); Master of Science (M.S.) in Engineering Management (for those who seek a thesis-based research-oriented graduate degree); Master of Engineering (M.E.) with a concentration in Systems Engineering. These programs are designed to provide graduates with skills, knowledge, abilities, and attitudes required in designing and managing the technology-based, project-driven enterprise.
Minor Programs
The minor in engineering management is intended for students with majors in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, ocean, earth and atmospheric sciences, or biology. The minor develops the skills in team building, interpersonal communications, decision making, ethics and leadership, project management, risk analysis, and quality assurance that employers are increasingly looking for in both engineers and scientists, as well as in other employees in "high tech" organizations.
Certificates
ODU provides several certificates that are useful to those in those aspiring to an executive management position in technology-based, project-oriented organization, or those interested in entrepreneurship, homeland security, energy systems, or mission analysis engineering.
