ParaPro Assessment

The ParaPro Assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math on the part of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of the federally legislated No Child Left Behind Act.

The test consists of 90 multiple-choice questions in the core subject areas of reading, writing, and math. Approximately two-thirds of the questions focus on basic skills and knowledge, while the remaining one-third focus on applying skills in the classroom. See the ParaPro Study Companion for more information.

Please register through our online registration system to schedule your test date and time.

The test and test administration fee (combined when you register for an appointment on our site) is payable via AMEX, Visa, Discover, and MasterCard credit or debit card. The testing fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Bring an appropriate official photo ID (valid state-issued ID, military ID or passport)

Unofficial scores are available onscreen at the end of the test. Official score reports are sent out approximately 2-3 weeks after your test date.

Refund Policy

Individuals who fail to reschedule by the registration deadline (at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment) or fail to show up for their appointment will need to schedule another testing appointment and repay the test administration fee. Refunds will only be issued (minus a $3.50 fee charged by RegisterBlast) if notice is given in writing (e-mail credentialingcenter@odu.edu) at least 48 hours before your appointment time.
