Tunazzina Islam
Tunazzina Islam joined as a Ph.D. student in Fall 2015 in Computer Science department at Old Dominion University. She is currently working with Dr. Mohammad Zubair and Dr. Desh Ranjan as a Research Assistant and her research interest lies in High-Performance Computing, Parallel Computing, Scientific Computing, and Bioinformatics.
Tunaz recently received Grace Hopper Scholarship to attend the 2016 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC) in Houston, Texas and Richard Tapia Scholarship to attend ACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference 2016 in Austin, Texas. Her research poster got accepted to present in GHC 2016 and CAPWIC (Capital Region Celebration of Women in Computing) 2016. She got Travel Grant to participate in the 2016 CRA-W Grad Cohort Workshop in San Diego, California. She received an invitation to be a member of Golden Key International Honour Society for excellent academic performance. She is a member of ACM-W and Golden Key International Honour Society.
She received her B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2013. After graduation, she worked for 2 years as a Software Developer at Dohatec New Media, a software company in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
