How long is the program?
The Career Switcher Program is 15 weeks long in the Fall and Spring. The summer program is 7 weeks long. Program duration is subject to change.
What exams do I need to pass in order to enter the program?
Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment and Reading for Virginia Educators Exam (for PK-3 and PK-6 programs only)
Is it necessary to order transcripts from each university if my classes were transferred to the one from which I graduated?
Yes, the Virginia Department of Education requires this step.
How do I get my transcripts evaluated if I attended school in another country?
Your transcripts should be evaluated by an approved global credentialing agency before you schedule an appointment. You should request a course-by-course evaluation. Is student teaching required for this program?
No. A thirty-hour field placement is the only required field experience in the program.
