Department of Civil & Environmental EngineeringUndergraduate Program
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a four-year undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE). The BSCE degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, http://www.abet.org. The undergraduate degree in civil engineering prepares graduates for entry into professional practice and continued intellectual and professional development throughout their career.
Additionally, we offer an undergraduate minor in environmental engineering with two tracks available: aqueous environmental systems and environmental protection. An undergraduate minor in civil engineering may be obtained by students from outside of the major.

Academic Advising
Each student is required to meet with their assigned CEE Faculty Advisor every semester prior to registration for a future term. Students' discussions with their faculty advisors involve career exploration, choosing a minor (if desired), advice on course selection, pursuit of graduate study, opportunities for internships and co-ops, etc. Once the student meets with their assigned faculty advisor, the advisor block on the student's account is removed, and only then can a student register for courses. Additionally, ODU's Career Development Services provides a full array of career services connecting students with employers.
For any academic advising questions, please contact the CEE Department:
- Dr. Gangfeng Ma, CEE Chief Departmental Advisor, gma@odu.edu
