    Faculty Contact: Dr. Jaewan Yoon

CEECL is a functional computing facility used extensively in instruction and in supporting undergraduate and graduate research activities. Equipped with an extensive collection of engineering analysis, design and modeling software (in structural, water resources, environmental, coastal, geotechnical and transportation areas), and CAD, GIS, RDBMS, Remote Sensing, programming and development, CEECL facilitates access to ODU HPC (High Performance Computing) Supercomputer cluster and other core computational servers as well as regional nodes including NASA Langley Research Center, and others around the country.

    Advising

The CEE Department offers advising to students on a continuous basis. Each student is required to meet with their assigned CEE Faculty Advisor every semester prior to registration for a future term. Students' discussions with their faculty advisors involve career exploration, choosing a minor (if desired), advice on course selection, pursuit of graduate study, opportunities for internships and co-ops, etc. Once the student meets with their assigned faculty advisor, the advisor block on the student's account is removed, and only then can a student register for courses. Additionally, ODU's Career Development Services provides a full array of career services connecting students with employers.

For any academic advising questions, please contact the CEE Department:

    • Dr. Gangfeng Ma, CEE Chief Departmental Advisor, gma@odu.edu
