All aspects of our lives are rooted in real estate, from where we live and work, to where we spend our free time and how we gather. Understanding the role of real estate economically and in society provides valuable insight for any profession.
As an applied and interdisciplinary field real estate is the perfect minor. The ODU Real Estate Minor enables students to explore the fundamentals of real estate, providing comprehensive coverage of both residential and commercial real estate and will be a compliment to any field of study. The program will help provide students with an understanding of how their major can be integrated into the wide variety of career paths available within the real estate profession. It will prepare students for careers in real estate brokerage, mortgage banking, development, leasing, commercial & development financing, property management, and in related areas in public policy. The minor is also highly valuable for students as a compliment to their major and for those who wish to pursue careers in related areas such as; Business, Communications, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Economics, Finance, Geography, Public Policy, Sociology and Urban Planning.

- REST 450 Real Estate Finance
- REST 454 Real Estate Investment Analysis
- REST 495 Selected Topics in Real Estate

- FIN 431 Investments
- FIN 497 Selected Topics in Finance
- FIN 441 Student Managed Investment Fund
