About this Program

With a public service minor, you will gain a solid theoretical foundation in the study and practice of public service, preparing you for citizenship, leadership, and careers in governmental and non-profit agencies and encouraging a spirit of volunteerism. As a public service professional, you'll have the opportunity to deliver and manage public programs, address critical issues in society, lead change in public policy, and embrace civic responsibility.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Public Service at ODU?
Students entering the Minor program in Public Service should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.
  • To receive a minor, the student must achieve a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in all courses specified as a requirement for the minor exclusive of 200-level courses and prerequisite courses and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses in the minor requirement through courses offered by Old Dominion University.
