ENGN 444:
Veterans in Engineering and Engineering Technology Seminar
This course aims to augment the transition from service to student to engineer through helping the veteran achieve a sense of belonging to the engineering profession through class discussions, seminars, and workshops designed to develop their identities as engineers and increase their feeling of belonging in engineering fields through self-efficacy and help with their persistence to degree completion. Class activities are designed to build a sense of community and increase students' relevance by helping students develop a career identity in engineering. Prerequisite: Junior standing or instructor permission.
ENGN 495:
Multidisciplinary Topics in Engineering and Technology
Special interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary topics of interest with emphasis on emerging areas in engineering. Prerequisites: instructor permission.
ENGN 602T:
Engineering for Secondary School Teachers
An introduction to foundations of design and civil, environmental, electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering. The course will consist of secondary school appropriate content and concepts that directly correlate with the state and local school systems' science and mathematics curriculum. May lead to a Project Lead the Way certification when applicable. Prerequisites: Bachelor's degree or permission of the instructor.

What are the requirements to apply for this program at ODU?
Students entering the Doctor of Engineering program in this program should meet the minimum university admission requirements (Graduate Admission)

Two letters of recommendation (One of the letters of recommendation should be from an agency point of contact if a sponsoring agency is involved. Sponsorship does not necessarily imply financial support, but it rather focuses on the provision of a project and access to data, information, and means to apply and test a solution
An essay describing the applicant's preparation for graduate work, personal and academic goals, and professional objectives
A personal or telephone interview of the applicant with the graduate program director will be required
Engineering experience of at least two years within the last five years
Master's degree with a grade point average of 3.5 out of 4.0 in an appropriate field from an accredited institution of higher education

Estimated rates for the 2022-23 academic year. Rates are subject to change. Anyone that is not a current Virginia resident will be charged non-resident rates. That includes international students.
