More than 300 ODU Students Volunteer for Fear 2 Freedom Public Service Event to Support Victims of Sexual Assault

More than 300 Old Dominion University students turned out Oct. 28 to join with the non-profit organization Fear 2 Freedom to assemble 225 sexual abuse recovery kits to be distributed at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Old Dominion University has embraced the notion that public service improves lives and the world around us. To celebrate the opportunity to learn, serve and pursue a career in government, nonprofits or the charitable center, ODU hosted its fifth annual Public Service Week, which runs from Oct. 25-31. Picture here are students, faculty and staff who participated in events that included the Big Blue Take Back rally, Make a Difference Day, the Fear 2 Freedom Celebration Night and the Public Service Festival, on Kaufman Mall.

Old Dominion students are seen here during the recent Monarch Wellness Color Run, which was designed to promote excitement about Monarch Wellness. The campus-wide initiative promotes student well-being in every aspect of student life. Its tenants include: cultural, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, spiritual, social, occupational/career and physical wellness. Each tenant was associated with a specific color during the event.
