Sporting his Google Glass, Declan De Paor, professor of geophysics and director of the Pretlow Planetarium, delivers a lesson to students in his Introduction to Astronomy class about the connection between particles discovered in accelerators and our understanding of Big Bang cosmology. "For several years, I've taken students' questions as SMS text messages and now I am experimenting with communication via Google Glass," De Paor said. "In a 390-student class, individual students are often shy to raise their hand but are happy to text. We also communicate via Learning Catalytics." All students are required to have a mobile device in class.
