Farewell to Fall: A Photo Essay

Activities during the week before final exams included everything from an Exam Jam at ODU Virginia Beach to therapy dogs on the main campus - events designed to help students de-stress before the end-of-semester tests.

Matt Smith, a senior at Old Dominion, enjoys some face time with Addie at the Paws Fur Relief event Thursday in Webb Center. ODU's Pre-Veterinary Medical Association sponsored the therapy dog sessions on Dec. 3 and 5. Open to students and faculty, they offered a quiet moment to relax and de-stress with a certified therapy dog during the last week of classes. "The week before finals is typically a high-stress time for students and faculty, and interacting with a pet has been shown to reduce stress," said Heidi Garman of the ODU PVMA, who coordinated the event.
