Gravity Works – and Many of the Catchers as Well – at Annual Pumpkin Drop

Success came early and often for students who had built the 10 "catchers" that competed in ODU's annual Pumpkin Drop Thursday. The very first pumpkin dropped from atop the Batten Arts and Letters Building was given a soft landing by a 4-foot-square cardboard box, deftly filled with sofa cushions.



ODU Dental Hygiene Program Celebrates Profession’s 100th Anniversary

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the nation's first formal school for training dental hygienists, and there is no better time to get acquainted with the students and faculty from the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene who staff the clinic.


Around the Grounds: A Photo Essay

While pumpkins rained from the Batten Arts and Letters Building, a surprising number of people got into the Halloween spirit (and costumes) throughout the campus on Thursday. It was also a day when many members of the ODU community took part in the sixth annual Breastival and Fun Walk "to help scare away cancer." Elsewhere, the campus was alive with many other activities and events last week.
